How was Masked Up born you may ask?  Well, to be truthful, due to importing masks for work I had no idea that people were being charged so much for something that, at the moment, is important for people to be able to access at an affordable price.

A friend of mine mentioned her KN95/FFP2 masks cost $30 for 5 and I was SHOCKED!  I mentioned that I could provide them for a far more affordable price, and when I informed her of what that was, she was shocked, and ordered some off me right there and then.   I realised that low-income people, especially, must be finding it impossible to protect themselves with a good quality mask.  I then contacted various members of my whānau and found out that many of them either themselves could not afford KN95/FFP2 masks, or knew of many others that couldn't.

The next morning I awoke to a number of messages from people asking if they too could access the masks for the same cost, and thus, I now am importing large quantities of masks and offering them to the wider public of Aotearoa New Zealand.
